YOUR INDUSTRY / RESTAURANTS
Cyber insurance for restaurants that run on more than a kitchen.
Your dining room depends on payments, orders, reservations and the systems behind your team.
Discuss my business ↗ILLUSTRATIVE SCENARIO
A full dining room. No way to take payment.
A Friday-night service is underway when payment processing becomes unavailable. Is the cause a cyberattack, a system failure or a problem at a provider? Each raises different policy questions.
An outage is not automatically a covered cyber event.
Map the systems behind the work.
- Point-of-sale systems
- Online ordering
- Reservations
- Payroll and employee records
Then ask what the policy addresses.
Ask who owns each system, what your payment processor handles and what information remains your responsibility. Review business-interruption waiting periods and how lost income would be calculated.
Ask about the incident trigger, covered response costs, reporting obligations, approved vendors, sublimits, retentions and exclusions.
Review the coverage questions →Questions before a proposal.
What is cyber insurance?
Cyber insurance may help pay specified costs from a covered cyber incident. The policy defines the events, expenses, limits and exclusions. It does not replace cybersecurity measures.
Does it cover every outage?
No. The cause, affected system and policy wording matter. Ask about attacks, system failures, waiting periods and outside providers.
Can it help after customer information is exposed?
A policy may address certain investigation, notification and liability expenses. Check which services are included and which limits, approvals and reporting conditions apply.
Can it help protect customer trust?
Some policies address crisis communications or public-relations expenses. These services cannot guarantee restored trust or reimburse every future lost sale.
How much does it cost?
An actual quote depends on your business and the coverage offered. Compare price alongside limits, retentions, conditions and exclusions. This site does not provide live quotes.
Is CyberAffirm the insurance company?
CyberAffirm is an insurance agency. The insurer named in a policy issues the coverage and confirms its effective date.
